Our purpose

In all the commercial ports of the world there is a facility for the sailors in stopover.

These sailors, coming from all over the world, find there a place of attentiveness, exchange and also a lot of human warmth which they lack so much in their daily life on board ships.The port of Bayonne also haf its home. Founded in 1997 by a handful of volunteers, former merchant seafarers, former national seafarers, port pilots, supported by the chamber of commerce and industry, agents and consignees, under the aegis of Mikel Elpaza, chaplain of seafarers, it was inaugurated on September 15, 1997.Led by a team of some twenty volunteers and an employee, our association (1901 law) has welcomed 40,000 sailors since its creation.They come to us with their solitudes and their tiredness hidden under the clash of commercial traffic and every day they reinforce us in our commitment by entrusting us with this message :"Here, I was happy for a stopover"
